Yeah, I wouldn't want to try to drop anything onto those mountains. Hitting fires with slurry there looks about as easy as the flying at the end of the movie, "633 squadron":

There was a large wildfire very close to my house last year (thankfully the winds were blowing away from my house toward the fire, so it went the other way, but sadly it burned down an 1860s farm house). A DC-10 was called out of the eastern part of the state but the terrain is rolling farmland in nature, so dropping was a piece of cake for them, especially compared to dropping in the hills around the D&RGW!
