I should have said some more. The Orogrande-Zora branch was the prominent metal mining spur on the EP&SW eastern division. The White Oaks area was a favorite subject of newspaper editors from the 1880s on, but the various companies never laid tracks to that mining town. The nearby Capitan branch served coal mines that lasted for several years but that was another story.
