So John and Russ were standing near the back of the train in our first scene, and all their photos were before where we were? I like the shots you guys got with all the trees, and I also like where we were cause it was real open with less foliage. Our visit was about 3-4 years before John was there (1960-61). I was only 10 but have a few B&W around as well. As I recall, we crossed on a wooden bridge and the road split on the other side, and we took the one toward Toltec. I vaguely remember parking and seeing trucks coming off the road spur that went west. I am pretty sure we were across the valley from where the third shot was made. It still amazes me we made it back there. In our video we show the engines backing at Farm Yard in Alamosa, then departing Alamosa. I don't think we have film for after that until Osier, unless it is in an already made show and they got separated somehow. I suspect we shot to Antonito, then found our way to Osier. In the film you do see what appears to be one or two other photographers at Osier so perhaps we got the info from them. We had either a 55 dodge (until 1961), or a 1961 Dodge Seneca!!! Neither was really made for the back country!!!!
