on the two short drgw reefers that i am familiar with, compressed composite sheets with a waffle pattern were used. the sheets have strands of wood shavings, straw, twigs, and 'jute like' string running throughout. the sheets are roughly one inch thick. thick cork covered with a tar like substance was used under the floor boards.
