One of the coal mines has Bins located right on the Branchline.

Most of the Coal was exported out of nearby Greymouth port, the Q hoppers were lifted bodily from the frame for dumping into Lighters. Prior to the Otira Tunnel opening in 1923 there was no rail connection to the populous East coast of the Sth Is.
