Thanks, Jerry. There is more info out there than I expected.

The ICC report that Hank posted said that mines were to be the support for the branch, but failed to develop. Seems odd to me that more development wasn't done by the San Luis Land & Mining Company before paying the RR to build a branch, especially since the Valley line was within wagon range. Gold Fever, I guess.
