A couple of guys who also had the Pentax 6x7 said we should back off infinity just a hair to get the nose of the engines sharp. I think you are right, it was equivalent to a 55mm. That thing was heavy around your neck especially when carrying video, or movie cameras and tripod. Didn't leave many hands and arms free.
Boy that trip for 483 with the caboose had to be a sad lonely run back to Alamosa. The 484 and 498 freight would have been a bit more interesting for sure.
