I'm not going to make any claims as to the accuracy of the overlay. It should be treated as a rough approximation of where things were located. This particular map sheet at the National Archives was badly creased which added a bit of distortion. Then there is the distortion due to photographing the sheets. It is always best to get out and examine what is on the ground when possible. I use these mainly as a guide for exploring and they are close enough for my purposes.
I have found a few discrepancies over the years which were likely drafting errors. One of the C&S map sheets shows a passing siding that was drawn on the wrong side of a curve as compared to what can be found on the ground.
In any event, visiting Ridgway and locations further on down the line is much more fun than viewing it from afar
