Apparently Marmite doesn't just enhance your manly vigor, it sharpens your eyes as well!! I vaguely remember that some of the really early colour film available in the late 1930's was two colours rather than the three we are used to today,* so perhaps it really is a colour original, but from the late Thirties when the herald was still in use rather than the Fifties when the flying
Rio Grande logo would have been applied after re-painting.

'The Aviator' about Howard Hughes deliberately imitated the early two-colour process for the first half of the film and then shifted toward a more modern rendition later in the film / later in his life.
