According to Earl the film footage of 473 we had switching was in 1963. It had the switcher footboard, and the cover on the front to keep oil from splattering the brakeman on the footboard during switching.
Lots of 473 switching in our "Rio Grande Vintage Steam". Here is a preview which doesn't show the front of 473, but shows it moving 464. There is a good bit of 473 switching in Durango on a clear day in 1963. It was the same day as the 497 freight and documented in the video. This is the footage shot by the late Jim Holmes.
