Bruce,
Way to go! That's them in 1942. They're already looking beat up, as anything to do with a logging railroad gets over used, overloaded, and beat up fairly quickly. The one pic showed the hinge arrangement, something I've never seen. Also, I didn't realize that the lumber locos were changed over to wood burners. Makes sense, but what drag for the fireman. I detailed an old Westside c-16 that had the right domes for the 271 with that handy (?) tool box and cool backup light (which can't be see in your photo) and one letter at a time lettered the tender with the MONTEZUMA LUMBER COMPANY railroad. I used the stock tender, not the fuel/water supply on short flat car as in the pic. I can't find a pic of it right now and since I sold it 25 years ago have no backup. Am i to assume most of the finished lumber loads we see in so many pics on the RGS moving toward Durango are from McPhee?
