Here's an update on the Bumble-Bee and the lettering. The tender is already finished, complete with doghouse, striping and "Durango and Silverton" in the same lettering style as in the 50's. Except for the length of the lettering, from a distance it really looks like the D & RGW that was on the original. The locomotive is already in the paint shop. The diamond stack is installed, and paint will be applied next. I have a set of authentic class lamps that will be used on 473 most of the week, so the head end will look right. With only minor variations, I think most of those attending Railfest will be pleased. Please understand that as one post noted, this is a D & S marketing event, and they are trying to promote this railroad, as well as recognize its heritage, the Rio Grande.
