I hate to say this but you are trying to replicate the wrong style of headlight that in 1886 adorned the door buttresses of the Como roundhouse. Todays CRRM's interpretation of DL&G 191 has a version of a mid to late 1880s style headlight or lamp that is not typical of what the South Park Line's locomotives although close. The difference being the curvature of the top of the box although I have found one example of the exact same top of the box. What is on 191 today is more typical of a broad gauge Union Pacific locomotives. A Union Pacific drawing is seen in the last image.
In my opinion, one of my favorite DSP&P artifact to survive other than the 191 itself is a type of headlight that was supposingly on a unknown locomotive that was the first to arrive in Breckenridge in 1882 and still has the original multicolored pin stripping and ornamentation and was on display at CRRM until around 2012 in the main building. One would like to think it is still there but who knows where and if it is it is not "open to the public" without a qualified staff escort. Anyhow the "Breckenridge headlight" looks like a dead ringer to the turntable lamp in the George Mellon photograph of 1886. Since it is not on display at CRRM it would be logical if the Como team could borrow this remarkable artifact for display or as a pattern for replication but that is asking a lot. Then again it doesn't hurt to ask.
The headlight on the Como roundhouse door buttresses in 1886
Original DSP&P headlight that was on display at CRRM.
Unknown manufacturer of a similar headlight in the 1894 Manning, Maxwell & Moore railroad tool and suppy catalog.
