I have made arrangements with Jeff Taylor at Colorado Railroad Museum to take detailed photos and measurements of 191's headlight in the next couple of weeks. Jeff told me he would also see if there was any data on the headlight from during 191's restoration. I had assumed that the headlight used lots of cast iron but have always planned on using sheet metal for the three facsimiles I will be fabricating. I'll take thickness measurements with calipers of all the sheet metal used on 191 but even so I suspect that I will be shearing, bending and cutting something like12ga steel for the frame so this will take a bit of specialized equipment. I'll post progress info with photos as I proceed.
