This is probably the diesel SVRY would have chosen if they had survived past 1947. I was all for yellow and black (SVRY diesel colors according to color pictures of the 101 in the early 60's - but it was agreed that whoever put the most time into the 720 got to choose the color scheme.
We owe Tom Young a big thanks for the superb job of restoration - he picked the colors and they are just fine! I look forward to qualifying on the 720 one day. Steam and 1st generation diesels are great!
By the way 720 got the chance to pull Saturday's first train because engineer Charles Bruce and myself couldn't get the compressor started for about 2 hours.......5 degrees that morning - YIKES!
