Yes, but it is not that simple. When the car was restored, after being cut in two, the frame was not properly spliced. In addition, the end platforms were poorly constructed. (The work was done by a contractor without much supervision.) All this makes it tend to bow over the bolsters if the truss rods are tightened wrong, or too much. We intend to take the car out of service and build a new frame and end platforms, but we need another car to replace it while this is done. We have plans for a coach and excursion car, and also a tentative agreement with the White pass to return two of the original Sumpter Valley cars, if they ever get through using them. All it takes in money.
