Hi Ted,
The Western Railway Preservation Society is still alive and well. One of our members was getting his daughter to update the website but that seems to have not happened. And its getting ridiculously out of date. I may need to jump in and fix that up. However, I must admit that I have not been able to commit as much time to the WRPS as I should because my duties on the South Park Rail Society in Como have kept me rather busy.
The West Side Caboose is scheduled to be completed this year and we hope to have it ready for the 2018 Fall Photo Special on the SVRR. After that, the plan is to start on the Sumpter Valley Ry. tank car #99. However, the tank car project still has to be approved by the SVRR board since they own a large piece needed to complete the project. We are also working on setting up and "second" shop over on the western side of the state, just south of Portland so we can do restoration work in the winter months in addition to the summer time work in the Sumpter Valley.
Thanks for checking up on us Ted.
Cheers,
Tim B.
