The UP ended service on the upper end of the branch, (MP 10.85, near Fiesta Casino) and donated it to the state in 1985. The state then gave the lower portion, from MP10.85 to MP 18.02 to Henderson, who have used it as an economic development project. It now has two or three customers including Polywest and a bakery. Union Pacific switches the Henderson owned track.
When the state donated the lower portion of the line to Henderson, we retained trackage rights. The city and the state are currently creating a use agreement for the upper most portion of the Henderson track, above Polywest, to allow the museum to extend operations about 3/4 of a mile across the new bridge on tracks not used by Union Pacific. It is likely that we will occasionally operate further into Henderson, probably as part of a special event, possibly to provide a "Parking Lot" shuttle for either Henderson or Boulder City. We have no plans or expectations to operate on UP trackage.
