The 4700N was likely dismanteld for parts for the 4000 series standard gauge Diesels, and was dismantled at the U. S. Army Railroad Transportation Corps Rail Shop at Hill Air Force Base.
I wa talking to one of the retired shop mechaincs and he said that he remembered a 4000 series locomotive being parted out in the early 1960's and that it was somewhat different from the other 4000 series locomotives.
