In my ongoing research on the K-37's I've come across this pic on the DPL showing C-41 1023. 1023's boiler was used for 496 in 1930. What I find fascinating is that the tender has vertical rivets like what you see on the 492's tender, which was the only K-37 to have that rivet pattern. This tells me that when being constructed the tender that was used for the C-41 was not used for the corresponding K-37. I'm sure they used the equipment that was in the best condition. I also find this photo of the ditcher quite interesting! Says it's south of Castle Rock in 1926.
