J Hammond also built cars for the Los Angeles Railway. Some of these ended up on the Pacific Electric as well as the Glendale and Montrose. These were the last cars built for the LARy prior to the development of the "Huntington Standard" design. Orange Empire has an LARy built derrick and at least one of the Journal Pedestals is marked for J. Hammond.
J. Hammond (California Car Works) is listed in the annual listing in
Railway Age as building cars for the 3' gauge Tonopah RR. It also built box cars for the Lake Tahoe Ry and Trans. that went to the SPng out of Mina (at least one of these is at Laws in the display train).
