Wife stuff

August 04, 2003 06:07AM
Back in 1981 my honeymoon trip was 2 weeks in Colorado(plus 8444 in Wyoming), so the wife pretty much knew going in what she was in for.
One thing you can do is ride the train together in Chama(great scenery, and supposedly better food at Osier this year). Then you can chase a train from Chama to Cumbres in the morning, and perhaps take a picnic lunch with you. After the train has dissappeared around Los Pinos loop, take either the Cumbres road, or the Apache Canyon Road up into the mountains a few miles, and have a picnic in the wilds someplace. On one of our lunches we ran into a flock of sheep grazing in a picturesque pasture. It was relaxing and I had a morning of great photograhy as well. Then you can head off someplace for the afternoon or just drive around and enjoy the scenery, which is what most folks come out there for.
