I suggest you make sure she has transportation. If you drive out, then leave her the car, or rent one, so that she has a way to get around if she wants to.
Back in 1993 when I did a work session in Chama, the wife and daughter were pretty bored so they left me in Chama and went to Durango and Mesa Verde for 2 days. I hitched a ride to the yard morning and evening so I didn't need a car for that time. That way they got to enjoy some other stuff.
I have some relatives that vacation out that way each year with grandparents and youngsters. They go to places like Lake Electra, horse back riding, shopping in various small towns, Mesa Verde, and so on. As Coke said...just enjoy the scenery and clean air(with some coal smoke of course).
