Interesting since they went tender-first from Osier. On a dinner train we rode in 1993 484 was the power. We went regular chimney first to Cumbres, the engine turned on the wye, and then we backed down (Tender-First leading the train) to Osier. Then the entire return to Chama was chimney First, with the moonlight and sparks right ahead of the open gon!!! The steak (Dinner) was tough though-sandwiches would have been better, but it was a good ride, even though my height does not like the old boxcar coach doorways!!!
