Earl is right, one of them, probably the 100 Footer came from the Colorado and Southern, in Denver. As I recall they were selling the property making room for new development at the time.
Not sure but I think it was donated, and the RR only had to pay the freight, but don't quote me on that. I believe there was some talk about using it in Chama, but it seems to me they deemed it either too long, or not historically correct, or it was not feasible for some reason-maybe cause no roundhouse!!! I could see it being used in Antonito though, even with the loop. Or better yet how about near Osier, or Big Horn where turning for charters would be helpful. I think we may actually have a video clip of this turntable in our Colorado and Southern video. Its been a long time since I watched it. I believe it has bridge-like sides on it.
