There was an article a while back in railway museum Quarterly about the preservation of D&RGW equipment. They listed over 1500 cars and bodies that have been preserved and as
we know that process is continuing today. From steam locomotives to cabooses they are coming back to life. Take the park locomotive display D&RGW # 315. Who would have ever guessed the she would ever steam again.
In other narrow gauges; the WW&F #9, the Klondike Kate; the SP#18, the
Glenbrook and others have all recently been in steam after years of restoration. The two Pullman sleeper car projects in Colorado are amazing projects.
