Safety glasses are on the list. I'll be bringing some to fit over my glasses.
We look at historic photos and get a glimpse into an era when safety was not so obvious a consideration as it is today. Much of the technology which is now commonplace (hard hats, day-glow & reflective everything, etc.) did not exist or had not yet been adopted when the D&RGW was still running the line. Sympathetically adapting a historic atmosphere to contemporary safety standards can be a challenge. Fortunately, the impression I've gotten from the C&TS is that safety is a very high priority, but they are practicing it such a way that it is effective without compromising the interpretation of the history.
Safety first,
David
