Nobody has said anything about the Sumpter Valley #250; the largest narrow gauge steam locomotive to run in North America.
After going south she and the #251 must have been the largest steam locomotives to run in Central America.
Sadly the two giants went to scrap in the mid-1960s or maybe later. Sadly the preservation movement had not advanced enough to save them.
Their tenders are up at the Sumpter Valley Railroad at Baker City; today they work behind the #19 and the #20 which also spent time in that region.
