And if you mean that "modern" D&RGW (now Union Pacific) diseasels are boring and ugly (except maybe in comparison to garbage trucks), then I'll have to agree with you.
But if you mean the K-28s & K-36s of the D&S or the K-27 & K-36s of the C&TS, then I disagree wholeheartedly. The ex-D&RG(W) outside-frame narrow-gauge Mikes may not be "beautiful" in the same sense as those ornate and/or delicate smaller engines built in the 19th century, but they are well-proportioned – and to me, at least – fascinating machines, and anything but "boring".
