Re: Anything happening with the Silverton Northern lately?

No official general announcement or press release on this yet (just general info to the membership), as there are still a couple of documents that need to be signed among three nonprofits - we want to make absolutely sure nothing happens to foul the project. We have been quiet about this as we don't want to get hopes up until it's a done deal, but there appear to be no problems. We hope to announce full details as soon as the documents are done, hopefully very soon. Assuming it happens the move will be less than a mile and will take around 3 -4 years to complete. I will announce as soon as it's a completely done deal. It will be worth the wait.

In the meantime, the Ouray County Ranch History Museum has opened in the RGS/D&RG depot. There are no railroad exhibits (yet), but railfans can gain access to the building for the first time in more than 60 years - and it's a very good ranch history museum, worth the visit.
