Yes and no, Price's were the only place left in NZ able to cast curly spokes of that sized cross-section, one other
may have but they are in the Sth Is and may have been damaged in the Christchurch earthquake so I didn't follow up there. These were cast, machined and shipped from 280 miles away 25% cheaper than a brand new steel billet solid disc wheel turned here locally.
In this game you do have to front up sometimes to get the goodies. That said, apart from my Motor wheels which were cast locally, all the others were scrounged from mines before closure and cost me only the adventure up North.
When you get down to a lot of short rails left over, welding the various 10/12/14/16lb sections together is easiest to accomplish the joints.
