Actually there were two massive rebuildings. One, from 1906 to somewhere between 1912 & 1916, simpled the engines. The second, between 1923 and 1929 saw ten of the engines superheated & converted to Walshaert valve gear. (#463 got this 2nd rebuild in June of '27) One engine (#462) that got the Walshaert gear but not the SH.
Rectangular tenders came starting in 1918, and in September 1924 all the 'hens got an 11" cross-compound air pump instead of the earlier dual 9 1/2" ones.
As to the Passenger cars, in the period 1916-1936 there were two, AFAIK, major changes
1) 1923-24 cars were lowered, underframes reinforced and extension side-bearing installed. (2) ca 1925 most(6?) of the Mail & Baggage cars fecieved new cast steeel trucks and had their end frames reinforced (with old 65 lb rail!) to meet new Post Office regs. I sorta doubt any of these changes are going to be reversed by CATS anyway.
Oh, from 1922-25 car numbers were centered rather than over the trucks.
Anyway, I expect this means the "Historic Car Fleet" could be used with any of the K class engines to represent a mid/late 1920's or early 1930's Colorado & New Mexico Express (trains #115-116) without causing heartburn for any but the most dedicated rivet counters.
