That's true Kevin, we have often thought of what might have been. SR&RL 2-6-2 #24 was saved and kept in a shed in Phillips until town taxes on the structure forced the owner to remove the building and scrap the locomotive in 1938. Just 3 more years and Mr. Atwood may have saved the engine.
