I didn't date the scanned image. If what you say is true it was shot on the Honeymoon trip at the end of June 1981. Was married on June 20th, and left for Colorado shortly thereafter. I know we were there when 489 was out for a little practice run to the wye, having just emerged from rebuilding. That was a great trip. Newly-wed, 844 chase to Denver with hopper cars, Chase 844 to Sterling and back to Denver. Hopper train with 8444 back to Cheyenne. Visited the C&TS, rode the D&S and stayed at AH Wilderness for 4 days and nights, in what would be their final year. Chased the F-units on the Rio Grande Zephyr for one day westbound. All in two weeks!!! I like the Cresco Shot and its probably my fav of the C&TS visit. I have some Super 8 Sound conversions around here someplace. Interesting tidbits on the 488.
