Chris, the rubber switches I operated through on the Santa Fe were on the main and were on either end of sidings but within yard limits. The switch mechanism bowl is painted yellow. There was a siding not in yard limits at Miltonvale (?) that had standard switches. The entire SF yard in Superior, NE was equipped with them except where the SF main crossed the BN Wymore Sub with two standard switches. Trivia: The AT&SF never had a charter to build in NE so the C&NW built the 2 mile connector track from Superior to the SF main at state line. JP
