As others have said weekends are the best bet, plus some holidays and fall colors. If I were you I would simply check with someone in the yard or ticket reservations and see what sales are like from Chama the next day. There is probably a magic number of tickets sold to equate to an extra coach or two that might require a helper. Sometimes though they simply do not know until the last minute in the morning due to walk-up ticket buyers.
