As Brian said, we walked down from the upper level. I had done a similar shot with Olaf on the 2014 315/Piledriver trip, and went to a higher vantage point slightly west of where Olaf led the others this time. The train backed a short distance and then proceeded down to the bottom of Whiplash. We had walked down through the more open area at the left side of the first clip. Because 315 has 2 blind drivers and no trailing truck, the DRHS crews don't like to do long back-up moves where they have to shove the train upgrade. This is especially true in areas where it's both uphill and curvy. I don't think we could have done this runby any other way, as they wouldn't have backed the train to the top. There were a few long backup moves in other locations, but I believe the grade was minimal in those spots.
