My brother John is irritated on how this discussion is going. I wanted him to post but he wants me to post. This is the email he sent me.

"I think there are a couple of issues. Number one is lack of advertising. It's expensive to advertise in the Narrow Gauge Gazette and in Railfan or Trains, so that hasn't been done. I have posted a couple of the flyers here on the NGDF and the thread very quickly drops down the page and out of sight, so I assume that the forum isn't a big market for low cost charters. If it's on the Friends website anywhere, it's probably hidden in one of the news forums and the average person isn't going to stumble across it. Anyone have any suggestions on where to post to get wider coverage that would target the more casual railfan? The people interested in more intensive, and therefore more expensive charters, find out about these without much difficulty.
Number two is are there really very many people, other than the dedicated photographers, that are interested in photo freights? Are the casual fans more interested in a nice ride on the railroad with possibly a few runbys thrown in? Any ideas on how to appeal to that demographic?"
JPM states~~~I say if they want more riders don't place the admonition on the announcement that states.
"You are welcome to pass this onto a friend if you desire but ask that you do not re-post to discussion forums, Yahoo Groups, public calendars, etc. Thank you."
Since it is a fundraiser for 168 maybe they should issue a press release to the media in the Springs. It could also be posted to Facebook, but you have that admonition. Post the link to the webcam page.~~~~end JPM comments

I suppose of if I was going to make a point and looking at actual results, the Friends would be better off just running the two day high end charter.
JPM~~~The Friends have 3 people riding the one day trip that would not be riding otherwise. Some people are just too old and have health issues that preclude a longer trip. That thinking reminds me of the toll road operators in SoCal. "Not enough people are taking the toll roads, we need to raise our prices!~~~end JPM comments
