Plan for Lava Pump House and Lava tank?

I noticed the work continuing at the pump house. What are the short term and long term goals there. It sure would be nice to pump water to the tank, but given the age of the pipe and the cost of replacing it that may not be realistic. I remember quite a bit of discussion of the work in the past, but wondering what the current thinking is. Seems to me they were trying to test the old pipe to see how much it leaks.
