Hey you don't even have to go outside the USofA to find names that many 'mericans are confused about.
Grew up in Iowa, common for people elsewhere in the country to think we had Famous Potatoes (that's Idaho, said so on their license plates.)
Even President Ford made a remark, speaking at Iowa State University, about how he remembered playing football in college against the teams from Ohio State.
A *lot* of people don't know beans about even local geography in this country.
