Amen to the AZ troopers Hank. When I worked at the GCR in 1999, I got pulled over
by a badge heavy trooper because "my car matched the description of one just stolen".
Then he asked how much gas was in my tank and took my word instead of ascertaining
this for himself. I was steaming but kept civil. All it amounted to was some jamoke abusing
his authority.
I got pulled over again on a day off while heading to Flag. Trooper Clark told me that my speed
was not constant so I countered by asking if I was wandering out of my lane. I asked this several
times and even asked him if he thought I'd been drinking. He never answered me.
So I don't have a high regard for that segment of the state. In neither case was I given a citation, it was
just out and out harassment and I told them so.
