One update on the Western Group, about five or six weeks ago there were some filings with the STB to the effect they were abandoning common carrier operations on the one Southwestern Railroad line BNSF is taking back and selling all of their other operations, including the Southwestern's other division, Verde Canyon, and Oregon Eastern, and Cimarron Valley. Buyer was a strange combination of one company that was going to own the properties and another that was going to operate, one was based in Florida and the other in California. However, a couple weeks ago there was another filing informing the STB that transaction had fallen apart and that they were retaining the properties. I found it interesting how quickly they seemed to go from let's sell everything off to expanding operations.
