A lot of credit goes to the Tweetsie for saving this loco. The previous "restorer" hired by the Forest Service dismantled the loco, scrapped the factory built cab since he wanted it to have a wood cab to "look older" and spread the rest of the pieces on the ground behind his shop. The Forest Service finally lost patience with his failure to work on the loco and hired the Tweetsie to finish the job, which meant finding all the missing parts and fabricating a new steel cab.
