Ely Thomas Shay #5 was sold to the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, where it was allowed to sit outside and rot for 40 years. It may finally be under cover.

Ely Thomas Climax #7 was sold to the US Forest Service for their Cradle of Forestry Museum in Brevard, North Carolina, where after a number of misadventures, it was restored by the Tweetsie crew in Blowing Rock and is now on display outdoors as Champion Fiber #3, a prior owner before Ely Thomas. They also have the Ely Thomas American Loader and 3 or 4 Ely Thomas log cars.
