Solid Steel vs stamped steel!

I haul machinery for a living, most people don't realize how much steel actually weighs. I believe the 315 crew stated that their drivers weighed somewhere around 4,000 lbs! These are smaller drivers, shorter and smaller axles, and no outside hung counterweights.

Also, in regards to steam locomotive theory, the heavier it is, the more traction.
