Time was I wouldn't give flat cars the time of day, but I've since fallen hard...

Note also that the D&RGW should be split after the R and the 1770 should be moved over a little more than a foot to accommodate stake pockets, so no intention of adding stakes later. The data stencils were just what they had on hand. In the Dorman collection there's a photo of 1026 reconfigured as an idler flat as well (if memory serves, noted in Sloan as being converted roughly the same time as 1770) with old sills freshly painted and lettered, but with stake pocket U bolts in place (and bolt holes and the "impressions" in the wood where the pockets had been) and the lettering spaced appropriately but with the short brake wheel. And the same I.H. data as 1770, but different WT and CU FT data, WT probably due to 1026 has plate bolsters I think.

I live for this seemingly useless minutia...

I asked Wes at the Friends about posting photos of Graden Mill that I bought from the Dorman collection, posting them here on the forum. He said it was ok as long as they weren't greater than screen resolution. I assume the same applies here, so they're 72dpi, not as crisp as the originals. A tremendous resource at a good price.
