The first open house was a HUGE success, and resulted in over $12,000 in donations on just that one day!

Sutter Creek is located on the "Mother Lode Highway", CA 49, about 40 miles ESE of Sacramento or 40 miles NE of Stockton (much closer to Fiddletown than Copperopolis on the fictional right of way of the legendary Fiddletown & Copperopolis Railway.)

p.s. When I attended the CA RR Museum's event led by Walt Gray back in 1994, we had a superb Italian lunch in Sutter Creek – IIRC, it was at the old hotel in the middle of town. If you're lucky, that restaurant is still in business!
