OK,
Nobody is getting this, maybe you had to know Mr Richardson. This story of his was a favorite of mine. Mr Richardson worked for Seiberling. He was somewhere down in the deep south exploring backwoods railroads when he was confronted by a Jackie Gleason Smokey and the Bandit style sheriff. Mr Richardsons company truck had the Seiberling logo on the door, and I believe the Seiberling name was written on the door in Germanic style font. One of the locals saw this truck poking around, mistook the logo for a swastika, and they called the law to report a Nazi Spy in the area. The idea of a nazi spy having a logo on the truck still makes me laugh. I don' t get your quote about pictures and books. Hopefully someone else can explain that part.
