Going back to Brian(Terry)'s post, I observed several years ago that the wye at the Summit of the Ore. Blue Mtns. at Kamela was in poor condition, and was soon thereafter out of service. It has now been removed. The wye at LaGrande got some work in the last couple years I think. In the old days east of LaGrande there was a wye at Hot Lake and was another a few miles further on at Union Jct. The one at Hot Lake must have been pulled out a lot of years ago, and one leg pulled a Union Jct. perhaps 8-10 years ago. It is kinda surprising the wye has been left at Telocaset. One also remains at Baker City. East of Baker on top of Encina hill the wye has also been removed. More NonNG useless info. The Joseph Branch has a wye at Elgin which was too have been Court Hammond's base for running 19 on the Elgin to Joseph part of the line that belongs to Wallowa Union Rail Authority. The tail track once crossed a street, but had been cut back to the edge of the pavement making it just barely long enough to turn a GP7, so certainly not long enough to turn a steam engine with tender. Court seemed unconcerned about this problem in a brief conversation I had with him, which led me to suspect the worst with regard to his actual intention of running steam on the line.
