Hi, Greg -
As noted previously, I was fortunate to ride a three-day Alamosa-Durango-Silverton round trip in June, 1960, and then the Alamosa Kiwanis three-day Kolor Karavans in late September - early October of 1962, 1964 and 1966. The June '60 trip consisted of the ten Silverton cars plus one wide-open gondola at the rear of the train
:
SFAIK, the same consist was used for nearly all of the excursions in the sixties; I don't remember when the steel-sided replica cars were added to the Silverton train, nor if any of them were ever used on the Kiwanis excursions, nor do I remember very many people shooting movies.
